Dr. Timothy Pestell joined Loudoun Veterinary Services as an associate veterinarian in May 2024 where he brings a combination of veterinary expertise and research experience to his role.
His veterinary training at the Royal Veterinary College in London encompassed a broad range of disciplines including specialized rotations in cardiology, emergency medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, and shelter medicine.
Prior to his veterinary career, Dr. Pestell conducted research in the cancer biology and stem cell biology departments at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. As a full-time research technician, Dr. Pestell studied in the Cell and Developmental Biology program where he published several papers in breast cancer (Google Scholar) . Dr. Pestell also received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Rochester.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Dr. Pestell has lived all over the globe but calls Northern Virginia home. He has three rescue animals at home and is a proponent of adoption and rehabilitation through compassionate personalized care. In his spare time, he is an avid fan of NFL football, camping, home cooking and weight training.
